Georgia Tech coaches really liked what they saw when evaluating 2025 quarterback Grady Adamson, which led them to take the gunslinger from Oklahoma State early in this recruiting cycle. This led to a strong promotion.
Adamson became the Jackets’ second 25-year candidate in April and is “settling” at Georgia Tech and will be a future part of the program, despite other schools trying to recruit him. He said he was looking forward to it. .
Adamson is currently in the midst of his senior season at Deer Creek High School in Edmond, Okla., and has been a major contributor to the Antlers’ 4-0 start as the team prepares for Friday’s district opener at Edmond North. So far in 2024, he has thrown for 848 yards on 56-of-82 attempts with 12 touchdowns and zero interceptions. He’s also the team’s leading rusher with 252 yards and seven touchdowns on 37 carries, showing off his leg strength and toughness.
JOL recently caught up with Adamson to get an update on his senior season, recruiting as a whole, how he describes himself as a player, his relationship with other players in the “25 Jackets” class, and his chance to pursue his dream of playing college football. I got it. And how excited he is about his future at Georgia Tech and being a part of it in Atlanta next year.
Here’s what he had to say:
JOL: How do you think your senior season is going so far, both individually and as a team, and what are your expectations for the rest of the season?
Adamson: This season is going really well. We started earlier this season and have had a lot of success early on. This season was a better season for me. Because he’s able to connect better with his receivers and understand play calls more efficiently. I hope that they will continue to improve both offensively and defensively and win the championship.
JOL: You committed to Georgia Tech all the way back in April. Were schools still contacting you during the recruiting process or did you close everything down and locked yourself in at Georgia Tech?
Adamson: Since I committed, a few things have happened here and there, but for the past few months I’ve stuck with GT and haven’t talked to anyone else.
JOL: For Georgia Tech fans who may not have seen your plays or highlights online, how would you describe yourself as a player?
Adamson: I would describe myself as a quarterback who can extend plays and make something happen when everything goes wrong. You can also make all the throws and use your legs if you want.
JOL: As one of the first members of Georgia Tech’s 2025 class, how much of a relationship have you developed with the other commits so far? Also, how much are you trying to maintain this class or add more elements as signing day approaches? ?
Adamson: Most of us keep in touch and check in with each other to keep our relationships going. We will all continue to keep an eye on other students and strive to build our classes.
JOL: How big of a dream has it been for you to play college football, and what is it like to know that you can get that opportunity after working so hard?
Adamson: It’s been a dream of mine since I was a child. I have always grown up with soccer and it has been my passion since I started playing. It’s great to have the opportunity to continue playing, but there’s still a lot of work to do.
JOL: How much did you follow Georgia Tech football this season, and does the way they play make you excited for the future of the program?
Adamson: I try to watch every game I can and see what they’re doing. It’s fun to watch their attacks in action and their explosiveness. I’m excited to learn their offense and start that process.
