A group of high school students celebrated a milestone and moved one step closer to pursuing a career as a doctor. Central High School held its White Coat Ceremony on Sunday in Kornhauser Auditorium. Thirty-six juniors in the Pre-Medical Magnet program were recognized. This program offers West Louisville students the opportunity to observe doctors, clean operating rooms, and witness surgeries. Students also practice simple procedures such as suturing. Principal Tamera Compton praised the students’ hard work and emphasized the significance of the ceremony, which reflects the school’s mission to develop leaders for positive social change.
