The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute will display 25 cars, including rare concept cars and museum cars, at its annual “Classic Cars for the Cure” event.
The show will be held at the private garage located at 1330 N. Crooks in Clawson on Saturday, October 5th from 7:00 to 10:30 p.m.
Tickets are $250 per person and can be purchased at the door with credit card or cash. This event raises funds for cancer research efforts.
“We’re thrilled to see the $1 million car on display at this event, a great night to support cancer research right here in Detroit,” said Karmanos Cancer Foundation Director Deborah Savoie. spoke.
“These vehicles are amazing and we are grateful to the owners for taking the time to showcase their collection and raise vital funds for cancer research.”
Visitors will be presented with cars hand-selected by local car enthusiast and classic car collector Al Trombetta.
Trombetta was inspired to help with the event after his mother died of lung cancer.
Owners and experts will be stationed near the vehicles and will explain the features of each vehicle.
Each vehicle has a story to tell, including the General Motors Heritage Collection concept cars, the 1908 Peerless, the 1928 Auburn Boattail Speedster, and the 1954 Kaiser Darin.

The event will feature food prepared by Forte Bélanger. The menu includes grilled flank steak, crostini, seared tuna, truffle flatbread, herb salt-crusted Angus beef tenderloin, crab cakes, and more. Desserts are served in a 1950s-60s style diner.
Cocktails include a signature mocktail called “The Medicine Chest.”
Christina and Stella will perform Motown hits as well as your favorite songs from the ’50s and ’60s. Guests should wear cocktail dresses.
