GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Today, local organizations hosted a community health fair aimed at providing resources to Gainesville residents.
Free blood pressure tests, information about sickle cell disease, and domestic violence information resources are just a few of the things offered at the health fair. The Community Health Fair held at Bartley Temple featured 28 vendors, providing valuable education and resources to attendees.
Impact Duval is the organization that organized this health fair. They have hosted many events providing support to the Duval community in the Northwest.
“There’s an organization we’ve started called Impact Duval, which is an alliance of churches in this area that come together to make a positive impact in this area,” said Open Door senior pastor Timothy Jones. added.
Impact Duval was created by Bartley Temple United Methodist Church, Dayspring Baptist Church, Open Door Ministries, and Prayers by Faith Outreach Ministries.
“Importantly, we want to reach more people in the community, but we also want members from different churches to come together and feel comfortable worshiping with others. ” said Dayspring Senior Pastor Marie Herring.
Its mission is for the church to unite and work together to impact more people in need. They hope that as the years go by, they will be able to expand their services to a larger portion of the community.
