The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services (DCDHHS) would like to recognize two long-time members of the Health and Human Services Commission for their hard work and contributions during their tenure.

Dr. Mark Grossman has served on the board since March 2016 and frequently serves on the Potentially Dangerous Dogs Committee. Alexis Hodges, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, CNE, has served on the board since September 2013, when DCDHHS became a consolidated agency and merged the Board of Social Services and the Board of Public Health.

“I would like to thank both Mark and Alexis for their years of service and dedication to our mission of protecting the health of Dare County residents and supporting and empowering families and individuals to achieve self-sufficiency.” said Dr. Mark, Director of DCDHHS. Sheila Davis. “Their guidance and dedication was invaluable.”

The Dare County Health and Human Services Board is comprised of members elected by the Dare County Board of Commissioners. The Board, which is responsible for policymaking and rulemaking pursuant to the North Carolina General Laws, meets at least quarterly throughout the year.
