Local manufacturers are seeking skilled employees for high-skill, high-tech, high-paying positions.
For the past 10 years, the Worcester Area Chamber of Commerce has organized Manufacturing Day, a program aimed at connecting Wayne County high school students with local manufacturers.
This year’s event gave nearly 400 high school students from Wayne County schools the opportunity to explore career opportunities within the county.
GOJO from Worcester participated in Manufacturing Day. Students learned about a company that makes hand sanitizer.
Students will participate in hands-on activities, witness highly automated processes in action, gain insight into various manufacturing career paths, and learn about locally produced innovative products. I found a product.
In particular, 12 manufacturers in Worcester and Orrville opened their doors, giving students an up-close-and-personal look at the potential career opportunities that await them immediately after graduation.
One of the stops at Manufacturing Day was the BCI (Buckeye Container) Wooster. The company offers custom-designed cardboard packaging and in-store displays.
Participating manufacturers were American Axle, Artiflex, BCI (Buckeye Container) Wooster, Daisy, GOJO, MOOG, Orrvilon, RBB, Schaeffler, The Wooster Brush Company, Ventrac, and Will-Burt.
