Does Jason Kelsey’s next career move involve talk shows?

Since retiring from the NFL, Jason Kelce has remained busy. I have a podcast with my brother Travis called New Heights. He also invested in Garage Beer Co. with his brother. And he works at ESPN as part of the Monday Night Football team. But that’s not all that’s on the mind for the bold-bearded former Eagle. He may also join the ranks of talk show hosts.

That’s the crux of a new report from Puck’s John Woolland. Uhland wrote that Kelce is in talks about potentially airing his own show on ESPN. What can we expect? According to Ourand, “The concept that seems to be gaining the most attention is a late-night show that features Kelce alongside other athletes and celebrities.” An odd time for late-night TV. However, the sports-centered talk show featuring Kelce is certainly well known.

And this isn’t the only time Kelce is being sought after in the media. Earlier this year, Kelsey’s signed a three-year deal with Wonderly worth $100 million, including distribution and advertising. Starting a new talk show in 2024 may be a bit of a risk, but Kelce is far from unknown at this point, and watching him converse with people and discuss a variety of topics could be a bit of a risk. It’s clear there’s an audience.

Ourand reports that NFL Films will handle the production side of the show, which will likely debut with five weekly episodes in January 2025. Ourand also wrote that ESPN is well aware that “its target audience will be consuming programming in January 2025.” via a third-party platform, CLIP” – likely a concern for new talk shows launching this decade. As a former athlete, Kelce seems better suited than most to go the talk show route. And if these reports go well, we may see results before too long.
