Donald Trump spoke at a rally at Madison Square Garden this evening, despite attempts by vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance earlier in the day to clarify what he really meant. He reiterated his attack on the Democratic Party, calling it an “enemy from within.”

“We are fighting something much bigger than Joe and Kamala and much more powerful than them: the huge, evil, twisted radical left organization that runs today’s Democratic Party,” Trump told the audience. he said. “They’re just vessels. In fact, they’re perfect vessels because they never struggle. They’ll do whatever they want.”

Trump added, “I know a lot of them. This amorphous group of people, but they’re smart and they’re vicious, and we have to defeat them.” “Enemies from” and the other person becomes furious…They have done all sorts of bad things to this country. They are truly enemies from within. ”

In a Fox News interview last week, President Trump suggested he would use the military to deal with the “enemy from within” on Election Day, while railing against “far-left lunatics.” He later said Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff were examples of “enemies from within.”

Earlier in the day, President Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance, appeared on CNN’s State of the Union with Jake Tapper and claimed that President Trump was talking about using the military to deal with rioters. did.

Another guest, Liz Cheney, responded to Vance’s comments, telling CNN: It’s Hitler. ”

Last week, President Trump’s former chief of staff John Kelly said in an interview with the New York Times that he was disturbed by the former president’s “enemy within” comment. He talked about the moment Trump praised Adolf Hitler, saying the former president “certainly fits the common definition of a fascist.”

Trump’s rally rivaled the Republican National Convention in the number of MAGA star performers, including Hulk Hogan and Tucker Carlson. Unlike the RNC, First Lady Melania Trump spoke out, as did Elon Musk and Robert Kennedy Jr.

But the event also featured extreme and even racist rhetoric, including comments from comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who described Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage” and talked about “carving a watermelon” with a black friend. It was noteworthy. together.

He also said of Latinos, “They love to have kids too. Just know that they do that. There’s no unplugging. They don’t do that. They come into the country just like they did to the country.”

President Trump’s remarks were reported on major cable news networks, but CNN and MSNBC ultimately cut them off.
