Thatcher — Cutting a ribbon with giant scissors Friday, Eastern Arizona University President Todd Haney officially opened the university’s newest service, the Career Services Center, on campus and in the community.
The center will serve as an information hub for companies looking to hire university students.
“We have several internships already set up for the spring semester, which we are very excited about,” said Career Services Center Director Alison Villalobos. About 20 companies were interested in it. ”
In addition to job postings, companies can host workshops and offer job shadowing opportunities through the center.
For students, the center offers application assistance, job skills workshops, and more.

“Of course, most students have used this service, but community members have also come on board and taken advantage of our resume writing (and) cover letter writing (assistance),” said Career Pathways Coordinator. says Ginger Stevenson. .
The Career Services Center is located on the second floor of the Alumni Library Building.
“Eastern Arizona College plays a central role in the economic health and vitality of the Gila Valley, Graham County and the entire region,” Haney said. “Last year alone, the university generated $230 million in economic impact and directly supported 3,630 jobs in the region. The opening of this Career Services Center is a continuation of that positive economic impact.”
The center was developed with a $2.1 million rural, postsecondary and economic development grant from the U.S. Department of Education and has already established relationships with Arizona @ Work and the Graham County Chamber of Commerce.
