“Sometimes the hardest part is pressing play and getting started,” fitness instructor Tanner Courtad says in this full-body workout video. “But what you’ll find is that momentum builds, and once you do, it’s all about maintaining it.”
Led by “Bachelorette” alum and Future Self founder Courtad, this 10-minute workout focuses on the upper body, shoulders, lower body and core and can be performed with your own body weight or a pair of light or medium dumbbells. If you find this class a little too easy and can maintain proper, safe technique, try replaying this class again but with more weight.
As Courtoodt explains in the video, this “short but effective” workout only takes 10 minutes. First, Courtoodt warms up with a light jog in place, followed by arm circles. As the warm-up continues, Courtoodt explains the class format, which includes 10 different movements (no repetitions). Each movement consists of 45 seconds of work and 15 seconds of rest.
He then leads the class through a variety of lower and upper body exercises, incorporating everything from squats to overhead presses, lunges to bicep curls and lateral raises. Upper body exercises include front raises to shoulder fly movements and rows to tricep extensions. The final phase of the workout includes core exercises such as bird dogs and jackknife movements.
Courtoodd is assisted by Tyler Hightower, on the right, and Paris Nicole, on the left, who also assisted with a 30-minute dance-inspired cardio circuit with “Dancing with the Stars” alum Lindsay Arnold and a fun 10-minute outdoor HIIT session with Jenna Willis.
We’ve focused on quick and easy workouts, so there’s no guided cool-down at the end. If you’re looking for something to join in with, try this quick 6-minute cool-down from Sweat and Tell, or Danielle Gray’s guide to using a foam roller.
