UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State employees enrolled in Penn State Highmark Employee Health Insurance can make an appointment for their annual influenza vaccination at the University Health Services (UHS) Pharmacy.

Employees and eligible dependents ages 18 and older can schedule an appointment online or by calling the UHS Pharmacy at 814-865-4847, option 1.

The influenza vaccine is 100% covered under Highmark health plans with no copays or deductibles and is available at most in-network pharmacies, including UHS pharmacies. Visit the Highmark website for more information about providers in the network.

Both existing and new UHS Pharmacy customers will need their insurance card upon arrival for vaccination. Employees age 65 and older and their dependents can also schedule a high-dose influenza vaccine upon request.

Parking is located in the designated pharmacy space on the first floor within the Eisenhower parking deck.

If you are not covered by the university’s Highmark insurance plan, you can schedule a flu shot through your insurance or a government agency such as the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Employees can find additional vaccination locations online.

Cold and flu season is here, and employees are encouraged to prioritize personal health and hygiene practices. Schedule your flu shot at a UHS pharmacy, ask your health care provider about other preventive vaccines for common illnesses such as coronavirus disease (COVID-19), wash your hands frequently, and stay sick Staying home during this time is all precautions our employees can take to keep the Penn State community healthy.
