Countless members of our community rely on local health care providers every day. From the birth of a new family member to receiving hospice care, the communities of Tahoe and Truckee rely on the comprehensive care provided by Tahoe Forest Healthcare System.
My name is Rob Dalzinkiewicz. We want to ensure Tahoe Forest Healthcare System provides the best care for this community. That’s why I’m running to serve on the Tahoe Forest Hospital Board of Directors. As an ER physician, medical practice builder, and Tahoe Truckee local, I understand the unique contexts that define the health of our community, and I bring my experience and expertise to bear. to the Tahoe Forest Hospital Board of Directors. If elected, I will improve access to care, prioritize the well-being of this community and Tahoe Forest employees, and work with amazing community partners to live my best life in one of the most beautiful places on earth. I would like to do so. .
As an emergency physician, I practice a unique type of medicine where I identify and treat life-threatening problems and meet every patient where they are, helping them in the moment. Over the past 24 years of my career, I have learned that each visit is different and each has its own important challenges. Whether it’s lack of access, fear of the unknown, insurance issues, or not being able to see a specialist, I strive to provide the best care possible at the time.
But the most important thing in every visit is mutual trust. Trust is built by sharing knowledge, experience, expectations, and working together for success. This trust extends beyond the room because I am not the only person caring for this patient. Patients also need to trust the team of health care providers working directly on their care, the clinicians who perform the test, and the staff who perform the test.
The hospital is in operation. There is an entire team that impacts one person’s experience in the emergency room.
An effective and caring system is needed to ensure that patient visits are respected. Otherwise it won’t work. A consultation doesn’t start with a conversation with the doctor. It starts the moment you decide to see a doctor. It’s often easy to view health care as an isolated component of life. When we get sick, we go to the doctor, but public health research shows otherwise. Community health is paramount.
The COVID-19 pandemic four years ago showed us how dependent we are, not just on our health systems, but on each other. The personal actions we take toward each other, from public health officials developing policies to the neighbors bringing us food when we’re sick, all help us become healthier. allows you to live your life.
I learned a lot about community health through my work at Hazel Health, a school-based telehealth company that provides mental and physical health services to school children.
When we founded Hazel, we started with one school in Northern California. Since then, the company has grown to provide care to more than 3 million children in 15 states. We strive to achieve great outcomes for every child in our mission of being seen, heard and cared for. Hazel’s growth has allowed me to gain experience not only on the clinical side of healthcare, but also on the business side. As Chief Medical Officer, I managed a team of physicians and clinicians and learned a lot about leadership, the inner workings of a healthcare company, and how to communicate between staff and company leaders.
This understanding and experience in health care is what I bring to the campaign, and I hope you will allow me to bring it to the Tahoe Forest Hospital District Board of Directors. My view of an effective and compassionate health system is based on three pillars:
Improve access to your primary care physician and eliminate the need to travel for treatment. Monitor your health. Show that Tahoe Forest Health System is keeping you healthy.
We support our doctors and staff because people matter. Strengthen community connections and relationships. we all want to live our best lives
Now let’s coordinate a solution and work together to make it happen.
