Christel Baltazar, an advanced practice nurse and certified nurse specializing in family medicine, is looking forward to joining the Essentia Health West Duluth Clinic.
“I chose Essentia because of the people I met during my training,” Baltazar said. “I appreciated everyone’s dedication to teaching us how to provide the best care to people in our community and their willingness to share their knowledge and skills. I also felt that we supported each other.”
Balthazar was educated at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
“I chose family medicine because I wanted to build long-term relationships with patients and had the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population,” Baltazar said. “I chose this specialty because of its emphasis on preventive care and a holistic approach. When caring for patients, I consider family relationships, culture, social circumstances, and personal I like to consider all aspects of a patient’s life, including their preferences.”
