‘Every effort has to be doubled’: Ashwin reflects on challenges and fitness routine at 38 after win against Bangladesh
“It’s a challenge. It’s not like you’re 25, 26, 30, 35, you have to redouble the effort you put in,” Ashwin said at the post-match press conference.
“I didn’t play many matches but I played in the TNPL and the intensity was pretty high,” he added.
When asked about his goals and mindset, Ashwin said, “I didn’t have any goals. I just wanted to enjoy the game and do my best. I don’t have any ambitions at the moment. I want to play for as long as possible and will continue to play with the same attitude.”
Talking about his fitness regime, Ashwin said, “I’ve cut down on strength training and focused on range of motion. I do yoga for a living.”
