That’s the goal of a new art exhibit in Sacramento. “Journeys of Hope” features local artists and writers sharing stories of hope and recovery. Each exhibit begins with a personal story of a Sacramento County resident living with mental illness. Local artists then use the stories to create works of art. Organizers hope to increase understanding and raise awareness about mental health struggles. We talk about mental illness and feeling alone even when there are people around you. That feeling can be very overwhelming for many of us. But thankfully poetry is there to help you interpret your feelings and let others know they are not alone. If you would like to see the “Journey of Hope” exhibition, it is located at the We Are Sacramento gallery in Del Pass.
