New partnership brings seamless heart rate and location tracking to gym members through wearable technology
Fitness On Demand, known for omni-fitness solutions, announced a partnership with gBeat, a platform designed for smartwatches, with the aim of enhancing the gym experience through wearable technology. The collaboration will integrate Fitness On Demand’s Flex App and Group Studio with gBeat’s geolocation and heart rate capabilities to provide gym members with a more seamless and personalized workout experience.
This integration allows users to leverage Apple Watch and Android/Wear OS devices to track training data such as heart rate, calories burned, and training time. Geofencing technology makes it easy for members to start their workout by automatically launching the smartwatch app when they arrive at the gym or fitness studio. Once the session is complete, the app will end the workout when it detects that you have left the premises, providing a smooth experience.
This partnership further enhances the data sharing capabilities of Fitness On Demand’s platform. Workout metrics are saved through Google’s Health Connect and Apple’s HealthKit, allowing users to see an overview of their sessions, including heart rate, duration, and calories burned.
Andy Peat, CEO of Fitness on Demand, said the partnership is an important development, citing the growing role of wearables in the fitness industry. “Recent research shows that nearly 400 million gym-goers are using wearable fitness trackers, and that number is predicted to reach 525 million by 2029,” Pete points out. and emphasized the importance of integrating this technology into the gym ecosystem.
Chris Hart, CEO of gBeat, echoed similar sentiments, saying Fitness On Demand’s focus on innovative digital fitness solutions makes it an ideal partner.
