On Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, former Florida Gators and Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts turned in the most impressive performance of his four-year NFL career.
The former Gator completed four passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday’s 31-26 win.
In the first quarter, Pitts used his size to outrun defenders in man coverage, eventually running a “corner” route and running past defenders for a 36-yard touchdown.

For Pitts’ second score, he displayed his route-running ability by running a “wheel” route past the Buccaneers’ defensive backs for a 49-yard touchdown.

His two touchdowns were an NFL career high. He had never found the end zone so many times in a game before.
This season, Pitts ranks among the top 10 tight ends in the league in receptions, yards and touchdowns.
The past four games have been arguably the best of the former first-round pick’s NFL career. Notable performances include seven catches for 65 yards against Seattle and seven catches for 88 yards against the Buccaneers in Week 5.
Pitts has caught 29 passes for 419 yards and three touchdowns this season. During his time with the Gators, Pitts had four multi-touchdown games, a career high with four games.
During his time with the Florida Gators, Pitts was one of the most dominant tight ends in program history. The four-year veteran won the unanimous All-American Championship and Mackey Award (the nation’s top tight end) in 2020 and was named first-team All-SEC in 2019 and 2020.
The Gators’ offense, coupled with fellow quarterback Kyle Trask, was dominant, finishing in the top 10 twice and winning the New Year’s Six Bowl twice.
In three seasons at the University of Florida, Pitts caught 100 passes for 1.492 yards and 18 touchdowns.
