ATLANTA — Former Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump had a busy day in metro Atlanta after meeting with religious leaders in Cobb County and rallying supporters on Georgia Tech’s campus.
Channel 2’s Richard Elliott was also in attendance, and nearly 5,000 people greeted the former president inside the McAmish Pavilion. Trump encouraged people to go vote, whether during the early voting period or on Election Day.

Polls currently show the former president has a slight lead over his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, in Georgia, but the margin is so close that both have stopped here several times. .
Trump, a former press secretary, spoke for one hour and 10 minutes. In that speech, he promoted a plan to cut taxes, eliminate taxes on tips, overtime and Social Security benefits, and secure the border.
He also spoke about Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her criminal case against him.

Less than 30 minutes into his speech, several people started leaving their seats. Those who remained remained enthusiastic about the candidates.
“It’s about making America great again! This is the greatest political movement in history,” he shouted to his supporters.
He has repeatedly said he needs supporters to head to the polls to help him win Georgia, a state he lost by just 11,000 votes in the 2020 presidential election.
“The rest of us have to go out and vote. We have a big lead, but you should all go out and vote. We can’t take any chances,” he said. .
Before this meeting, he spoke with more than 1,000 faith leaders at churches in Cobb County.
