Patrons can get an up-close look at the behind-the-scenes work done on “Legally Blonde” by the Fredonia Theater and Dance Department, courtesy of a tour sponsored by the Fredonia Chapter of the American Institute of Theater Technology.
The Fredonia branch of the American Institute of Theater Technology (FUSITT) will offer backstage tours to patrons after the Marvel Theater performance of “Legally Blonde.”
Performances by the Department of Theater and Dance will continue on Saturday, October 26th at 7:30pm, Sunday, October 27th at 2pm, Thursday and Friday, November 1st, and Saturday, November 2nd at 7:30pm. Tickets for Gloor Mainstage Series events are available 24/7 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at www.fredonia.edu/tickets or by calling 716-673-3501.
FUSITT has set up a table in the Marvel lobby to the left of the entrance stairs to display the work that student and faculty technicians put into the show. After the performance, interested patrons can gather and take a tour. There is no special cost, but patrons are asked to donate to FUSITT.
All proceeds raised from the tour will be used to fund the club’s travel to the 2025 USITT Conference in Columbus, Ohio in March.
“With USITT getting so close this year, we are trying to get even more students to attend the conference, so every donation helps,” said Colton Baum, FUSITT Executive Committee Member said. “All the technical elements of the show and some of the challenges that we might encounter, as well as information about the process, all go onstage, backstage and allow us to generally explore the space.
