Australian Government calls for funding for My Health Record

Australia’s general practitioner organizations have called on the Federal Government to upgrade the country’s digital health records system.

“We are calling on the federal government to overhaul My Health Record to improve its ease of use for Australians, GPs and other health professionals,” RACGP chair Dr Nicole Higgins said in a statement. said.

This comes after the RACGP found in the first results of its annual survey that nearly a third of Australian GPs rarely or never use My Health Record. The RACGP National Health Survey surveys over 2,000 general practitioners each year.

“Without investment in improving usability, My Health Record will not reach its potential as a one-stop store for Australians’ health records,” Dr Higgins stressed.

She needs My Health Record to collect more patient information and make it easier for GPs to search for it, as well as ensuring data interoperability and timely notifications when patient records are updated. I claimed that there was. Dr Higgins also recommended the introduction of automated tools to make the system “easier to use”, particularly in capturing data from GP records.

The National Productivity Commission recently found that My Health Record “suffers from incomplete records and poor usability”. Last year, the Medicare Strengthening Task Force also called for modernizing “clunky” digital health records systems.

NZ’s national AET program goes digital

Valentia Technologies has been selected to provide the digital platform to support the delivery of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation’s upcoming national program.

Manage patient data, coordinate care pathways, and facilitate communication between organizations, providers, and patients with Valentia’s Nurse Support System platform. The platform also supports risk stratification to better identify and assist high-risk patients.

Magentus launches AI-powered psoriasis dashboard

Magentus recently introduced a new large-scale language model-based dashboard to support dermatology practices providing care for psoriasis patients.

The Genie practice management system’s psoriasis patient dashboard uses AI to analyze large amounts of health records, according to a media release. Export a detailed psoriasis patient list categorized by severity and treatment type.

The dashboard also reflects the latest Australian consensus on the treatment of moderate to severe psoriasis. Biotechnology company Amgen Australia is supporting its development.

CALHN digitizes breast cancer treatment pathways

As part of its ongoing efforts to digitize cancer care pathways, Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) has introduced a digital pathway for breast cancer patients.

Powered by Personalify Care, the dedicated patient pathway features remote symptom monitoring and early clinical risk detection, aiming to reduce unscheduled hospital visits.

This digital project is part of CALHN’s CAN Connect virtual nursing service. CALHN adopted a digital pathway for the first time in 2021, trialling Personalify Care’s platform across 20 specialties.
