Guardian Ground Ranch, a nonprofit organization funded by private donors to support veterans and first responders, will host its first mental health and wellness conference in Houston this fall.

The organization will co-host a conference on mental health and wellness for emergency personnel with Cypress Creek Fire Department in Houston on Oct. 7 and 9. The conference will focus on “wellness and resilience for public safety professionals,” according to a news release.
According to the announcement, the conference aims to provide mental and physical support to emergency responders such as police and firefighters and to maintain their mental health.
About the Program
Participants can earn continuing education units (CEUs), including 14 credits from the Texas Fire Protection Commission and 10 hours of training credits from the Texas Law Enforcement Agency.
According to the release, the goal of the conference and program is to raise awareness of mental health struggles and work to reduce the stress experienced by emergency medical personnel and the stigma associated with mental health issues.
