WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) — Students in Wake County are getting the chance to learn more about a historically black college or university.
The district hosted an HBCU career and admissions fair on Saturday in partnership with First Baptist Church of Wendell.
Students had the opportunity to meet with representatives from local universities to learn about programs and scholarship opportunities.
Wake County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert Taylor was the guest speaker.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to get involved and have the chance to engage with the university who have come together to share a fantastic experience,” he said.
Wake County Librarian Ava Cross said the fair was wonderful.
“It’s gratifying to see students, their parents and recruiters shine with their talents,” she said.
This event marks its 10th anniversary this year.
