Highlight medical services at town hall event at VA Medical Center

SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) – John J. Pershing VA Medical Center will host a town hall event on October 21st.

The event will be held at Sikeston VFW Post 3174 (709 Smith Street).

According to a news release from the VA, speakers will discuss aspects of VA health care starting at 5 p.m. However, program booths and outreach opportunities will begin at 4 p.m.

This event is open to all veterans and their families and caregivers, regardless of whether they are enrolled in VA health insurance.

“This town hall is intended to provide area veterans with information about VA health care services they may be eligible for but are unaware of,” Interim Medical Center Director James Warren said in a news release. mentioned in. “Additionally, the PACT Act of 2022 significantly impacted how veterans qualify for VA health benefits. We want to help veterans understand how this can help them. I want to.”

Organizers say support booths will feature topics such as telemedicine, enrollment and eligibility, caregiver support, women’s health and home-based primary care.

A team from the Veterans Benefits Administration and a nursing team will be involved.
