A housing association inspired students with a career day.
NG Homes staff took part in a Young Workforce Development (DYW) event held at All Saints Secondary School in North Glasgow to promote housing as a rewarding career.
Project Manager Greg Cann and Housing Officer Joy Henderson joined other organizations to share insight into potential career paths and future education options.
NG Homes staff discussed their backgrounds and career routes to give students a glimpse of the different roles within the housing sector.
“It’s always good to get out into the community and meet local young people and their teachers,” said project manager Greg Cann.
“These career carousels are a great way to educate and inform young people about the role of housing associations and what we offer as a local employer.”
The event is part of a project in partnership with DYW to support local high schools with employability initiatives.
Ms Farooq, lead teacher responsible for young workforce development, said: “Having local employers like NG Homes participate in our events is invaluable to our events because they We are based in our local community and have some of our former students as employees.”
“This collaboration not only provides students with real-world insight, but also fosters a sense of community and continuity.”
