Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech will headline GLIAC Michigan football on Oct. 26, as most of the NCAA Division II football world focuses on another big Michigan matchup.
The noon kickoff is the start of a busy day for GLIAC, culminating with the Anchorborn Classic between Ferris State and GVSU at 3 p.m. ET. But before that, there’s the Miners Cup.
The Miners Cup has officially been held since 2002, but the conflict between the two programs dates back to 1920. Michigan Tech leads 18-3 in the Miners Cup.
But Northern Michigan University (0-7, 0-3) is looking to end the nation’s longest losing streak, which begins Aug. 31, 2023 and currently has 18 straight losses against rival Michigan Tech. The Huskies are coming off a 51-13 loss to Ferris State on Oct. 19.

Michigan Tech (4-3, 1-2) wants to finish the season with a win, and to do that, the Huskies can’t afford to lose at home.
