The first day of the 2024 Olympia final round went almost according to script. But Isabel Nunez found a way to flip the scenario on its head with perhaps the biggest upset ever at the 2024 Olympia Wellness. On Friday night at the Resorts World Theater, the two-time runner-up defeated three-time winner Franciel Mattos to become the new Wellness Champion.
Until Friday night’s upset, Mattos was the only champion in the wellness division’s short history. But despite being a clear fan favorite after a solid qualifying round, Nunes showed off her best physique in the night round.
That confidence was demonstrated when Chicherillo announced “And New” for the first time that night. Nunes finally defeated her longtime rival. She becomes the second Brazilian to hold the Olympia Wellness title.
Rounding out the top five were Eduarda Bezerra, Elisa Alcantara and Gisele Machado.
