Ivy Tech Community College announced Thursday that it has formed a committee to oversee the selection of its next president. The search committee will work to identify a replacement for Sue Elsperman, who is retiring at the end of this year.
The Presidential Search Committee is comprised of a representative from the Ivy Tech State Board of Trustees and one faculty member.
“We are committed to a transparent and comprehensive investigative process,” state commission Chairman Andrew Wilson said in a news release. “This is an important time for Ivy Tech, and I am confident that this process will select leaders who will continue to build on the university’s tradition of excellence.”
The board hired national executive search firm Isaacson & Co. to conduct the candidate search, with the goal of identifying individuals who “demonstrate the leadership, experience, and vision necessary to advance Ivy Tech’s mission.” Miller was appointed.
Ivy Tech said the committee plans to hold a consultation session with stakeholders this month to ensure the review process reflects the university’s needs.
The members of the investigation committee are:
Andrew Wilson, Evansville State Trustee, Search Committee Chair and Co-Chair; Kim Emmert-Odell, Terre Haute State Trustee, Search Committee Vice-Chair and Co-Chair. Emmert-O’Dell also serves on the Ivy Tech Foundation Board of Directors. Marianne Glick, State Trustee, At-Large Kelly Stemler, State Trustee, Sellersburg Michael Dora, State Trustee Secretary, Richmond Autumn McNichols, Teacher, Hamilton County
In June, Mr. Elsperman announced his plans to retire after 10 years in the position. She is the university’s president and the first woman to hold that position.
The search for her successor is expected to be completed by spring 2025.
