NAPERVILLE, IL—A joint venture between Capital Healthcare Properties and HSG Medical has entered the permitting stage for a project to create a cardiovascular specialty center in the Chicago suburb of Naperville. An Ambulatory Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center (ASTC) will be built for the Chicago area health system. ASTC will renovate the former 43,000 square foot fitness facility located at 1836 Freedom Drive. The joint venture has been coordinating with consultants, health systems and the city for more than a year. According to the development team, the building’s original design and use as a fitness center, including 25-foot ceiling heights and minimal columns, facilitated an efficient and flexible floor plan that allowed for complex healthcare facility expansions. You can maximize your space. Built in 2008, the building sits on five acres and features more than 200 parking spaces.
Construction is expected to begin this quarter, and the new facility is expected to see its first patient in 2026. The project team includes architects Antonovich Associates and HDR, civil engineers V3 Cos., mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers IMEG, and landscape architect Hitchcock. Design Group and General Contractor Boldt.
