The British pacer was suspended for three months in May 2024 over gambling charges.
England pacer Brydon Kearse made a brilliant debut in the Test match against Pakistan in Multan. He picked four wickets and won by an innings and 47 runs after England posted 823/7 with the bat.
But things were very different for the 29-year-old. He was seeking to lift a three-month ban imposed in May for betting on cricket matches between 2017 and 2019. The betting integrity rules of the game he was participating in prevent players from gambling on matches anywhere in the world.
The BBC quoted Carson as saying after the first Test in Multan that his time away from the game allowed him to work on his game and fitness and improve as a cricketer.
“I’ve had some time to work on some things and improve my fitness in certain areas,” he said.
“I’ve come back refreshed and I want to do as well as I can and play for England.
“I have a close relationship with the group of players that we play with, and I just really enjoyed this opportunity,” Kearse said.
Kearse made his ODI debut, playing for England for the first time in 2021 as England’s first-choice squad was unavailable due to the pandemic. There he impressed senior team members, including England’s all-time greatest wicket-taker, James Anderson, with his performances.

Meanwhile, Kearse was only happy with his performance and progress in his Three Lions career after the match.
“It’s been a special five days,” he said, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo.
“It’s been a tough transition so far and there were some difficult moments today (Friday), but it’s very rewarding to come away with the win.”
The second Test between Pakistan and England will also be played in Multan and will start on October 15.
