Former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney on Thursday cited the events of Jan. 6, 2021, saying she was “proudly” voting for Vice President Kamala Harris in Wisconsin, a key battleground state. He emphasized his support for the Democratic presidential candidate.

“Let me tell you, I’ve never voted for a Democrat, but this year I’m proudly voting for Vice President Kamala Harris,” Cheney said at a Harris campaign event in Ripon, Wisconsin. Ta. In an effort to woo unstable voters, she pointed to former President Donald Trump’s actions on January 6, declaring, “People who do these things can never trust power again.”

“Donald Trump sacrificed the Capitol to seize power, allowed law enforcement officers to be beaten and brutalized in his name,” Cheney said as the audience cheered. He was willing to violate the law and the Constitution.” “I don’t care if you’re a Democrat, a Republican or an Independent. It’s depravity and we must never become numb to it.”

The campaign event is the former Wyoming congressman’s latest effort to steer undecided voters away from Donald Trump with less than five weeks until Election Day. Cheney, who previously told CNN she was determined to do what it takes to prevent the former president from returning to the White House, announced last month that she would vote for Harris in North Carolina, another battleground state. Announced. He said he expected to campaign against Trump in battleground states.

At a campaign event Thursday in Ripon, where the school is known as the birthplace of the Republican Party, Harris directly appealed to Republican and independent voters.
