RED BLUFF, Calif. — A career fair was held Friday at Salisbury High School in Red Bluff.
Students came together as organizations to talk about their industry and distribute information to the future workforce.
Career options ranged from business and finance to government jobs and even trade.
Tammy Williams works in student services at Salisbury High School, an alternative to traditional high schools. She says Salisbury is a great choice for students to earn the credits they need to graduate, as well as introduce them to career opportunities. She said she was very excited about this year’s large turnout.
“This event is about showing kids what the world is like after they graduate…get their diploma and be successful,” Williams said.
Salisbury High School is smaller than other high schools, which allows students to work more one-on-one with teachers.
“This is a place to come to make up for lost credits or if the regular school environment is too much for them… We are a small school and we have a lot of resources to help them in different situations. There are more resources,” Williams said.
Agencies such as Cal Farr, the Marine Corps and the Tehama County Probation Department were also in attendance. Private companies such as Sierra Pacific and Q-97 Radio also participated, providing education and contact information.
