Loyola University’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Community Development, School of Business and Music Industry Studies Program are co-hosting “Innovate.LOYNO – Melody Makers: Inside Music Tech Startups,” a panel discussion that will spotlight five innovative startups at the intersection of music and technology, all of which are part of New Orleans’ METRONOME music business incubator, which supports local entrepreneurs pushing the boundaries of the music industry.
The event will take place on Thursday, September 26th in 112 Miller Hall, starting at 12:30pm. Attendees will also be provided with free food during the event.
The panel will feature five startup founders.
Sparrow founder Mike Mauer will talk about his event marketing platform. Sparrow is designed to help event marketers streamline operations and automate processes, and has already supported over 10,000 events and generated over $50 million in ticket sales. Montralize founder Alvin Harris will introduce an app that accelerates artists’ path to revenue. Montralize simplifies the process of registering with professional agencies that manage royalty collection and gives artists the tools to directly engage with their fanbase. Jrumz founder Dr. Lana Joseph will talk about premium hearing-conscious audio products for musicians and audiophiles. Jrumz is focused on providing superior sound quality while prioritizing hearing safety. Tipzy co-founder Tenley Gorman will introduce a mobile application that allows bars and venues to manage song requests, organize playlists, and gain data insights to improve customers’ entertainment experience. NOLA Now founder James Jeffrey will introduce a platform that connects New Orleans community members and visitors to authentic local events produced by New Orleans-based artists and businesses.
The panel will be moderated by Sean Mulligan, a Loyola University alumnus who earned his Bachelor’s degree (’22) and MBA (’23).
