The Lafayette Police Department is planning a recruiting fitness evaluation event this weekend.
The event will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Lafayette Fire Training Center, 300 N. Dugas Road, Lafayette, LA 70507.
Intended for those interested in a career in law enforcement.
Here are the details from LPD:
The Lafayette Police Department will hold a physical fitness test day for new recruits. The event begins at 8 a.m. with a physical fitness test. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive no later than 7:45 a.m. to register for the event. Wear appropriate athletic attire (including athletic shoes) for push-ups, sit-ups, 300-meter runs, and officer drop drills. A PT instructor is always on hand, and the morning begins with a warm-up and stretching session. Please bring a water bottle or sports drink with you when you visit.
Recruiting staff is also available to answer questions about employment with the Lafayette Police Department and provide application materials. This event is a requirement of the application process.
