Manchester City are not taking any risks with Kevin De Bruyne’s fitness

Manchester City are not taking any risks thanks to Kevin De Bruyne’s fitness. The inspirational midfielder is currently sidelined with a groin injury. He was injured in the first half of City’s draw against Inter Milan in their UEFA Champions League opener last month. Manager Josep Guardiola has explained that City are taking a cautious approach to De Bruyne’s recovery from injury.

Manager Pep Guardiola explained City’s injury management for De Bruyne ahead of the Premier League game against Fulham. He explained that although the Belgium international’s injury was not serious, Manchester City were taking a cautious approach to De Bruyne’s return. Guardiola explained: “It’s not a big problem, but he’s still not feeling well. We’re managing his fitness issues.” It would be better if his playing time was shorter, but the players don’t say that. They want to play every game. that’s nice. That’s fine. But sometimes your body will give you a warning. I’m here because (I have to be careful) they’re human and they’ve had a lot of games, a lot of years, a lot of injuries and the results are here. ”

It makes sense for the world champions to play it safe given Kevin De Bruyne’s fitness. He missed five months of last season due to a serious hamstring injury. The world champions do not want to find themselves in a similar situation this season. De Bruyne remains one of Manchester City’s most important players and it is better to use him at 100% than to risk it when he is not fully fit.

De Bruyne should be back in action after the next international break. He is expected to be back to full fitness when he returns from injury.
