Speaking ahead of BBC Radio Northampton’s wellbeing event ‘Headfest’ on October 25th, Jenny Norley from Northampton’s The Craft Fantastic said that engaging in creative activities is essential to her wellbeing. He said there is.
Headfest brings together experts, organizations and mental health advocates to offer advice and support at the town’s universities. A consultant psychiatrist with a focus on menopausal mental health will also be in attendance.
Relaxing activities such as crochet and needle felting will be offered, as well as guidance for people living with long-term health conditions.

She said the activity was a “slow and peaceful” practice and helped her “relax.”
Norrie has created a variety of origami sculptures, from dragons made “for fun” to wedding bouquets made from sheet music.
She said she was “looking forward” to showing participants how handcrafting can be “a gentle and lovely activity”.
Headfest will be held at the University of Northampton on Friday 25 October between 10:00 and 15:00 GMT.
