Royal expert Angela Levin criticised both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on “The Royal Beat”, accusing them of acting like “gurus” when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine. Levin argued that the couple are not virology experts, but that they are getting their information from experts like everyone else.

“Meghan and Harry know nothing about virology,” Levin claimed.

“They don’t actually know anything about COVID-19. It’s just the information they’ve picked up and the information we’ve picked up, and we’re not the experts.”

“Even the Prime Minister is consulting experts on how the vaccination drive should go.

“Meghan and Harry just jump in like experts.”

The comments come ahead of Meghan and Prince Harry heading to the Global Citizen Live event in New York this weekend.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will appear in person for a 24-hour performance-packed broadcast to raise global awareness about vaccine equity.

In addition to the royal couple, other celebrities due to attend include Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Jennifer Lopez and Lizzo.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously supported Global Citizen and its work in May of this year.

“This mission couldn’t be more critical and important.”

Other members of the royal family have also stressed the importance of getting vaccinated during the pandemic.

The Queen announced in January that she had been vaccinated at Windsor Castle, and a month later took part in a video call with health officials leading the vaccination drive, adding that her own shot was “very quick and completely painless”.
