Michigan Tech hockey dropped two non-conference games at home to Clarkson. The Golden Knights won 4-1 on Friday and 2-1 in overtime on Saturday. Steven Saldarian and Chase Pietila scored for the Huskies. Tech is 2-2 and begins CCHA play against Northern Michigan this weekend. The teams are scheduled to meet Friday at 7:07 p.m. in Marquette and Saturday at 6:07 p.m. in Houghton, with TV6 and FOX-UP broadcasting the game locally.

football
Tech football defeated the Wildcats 39-9 on Saturday for its 14th straight win in the Miners Cup against rival Northern Michigan. Brandon Michalak had two touchdown receptions, Jackson Lippert scored on a punt return, Alex Bueno had a rushing score and Ethan Hull had a touchdown grab. Porter Zieman led the defense with eight tackles. The Huskies are 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the GLIAC and will travel to Roosevelt on Saturday for an Eastern kickoff against the Lakers at 2 p.m.

soccer
The Huskies dominated their final home weekend by defeating Purdue Northwest 1-0 on Friday and then Roosevelt 2-0 on Sunday at Curley Stadium. Jordan Noble scored on Friday, and Kielsen Korinek and Emily Clayton scored on Sunday. Bry Burrows earned a shutout win over the weekend with 14 saves. Tech is 6-8 overall and 4-7 in the GLIAC and will play at Parkside on Sunday.

cross country
The cross country team had six all-conference performances, with the 20th-ranked boys placing third and the girls fifth at the GLIAC Cross Country Championships. Sam Lange led the boys team in sixth place, earning All-GLIAC first team honors, with Michael Dennis (14th), Tucker Ringhand (15th) and Colman Rench (20th) earning second team honors. It became. Sophia Rein earned second team honors with an 11th place finish leading the women’s team. Cedar Gordon placed 20th in the second team award. Tech will travel to the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 9, hosted by Lewis.

volleyball
Tech suffered its second loss on the road, losing 3-0 at Wayne State University on Friday and 3-1 at No. 13 Grand Valley State University on Saturday. Meg Raabe led the offense (4.29 km/sec), Tess Hayes set the offense (9.57 km/sec) and Bryn Erickson led the defense (3.86 km/sec). Tech, 11-9 overall and 5-5 in the GLIAC, returns to the SDC gym to finish its home schedule, hosting Northern Michigan on Wednesday, Parkside on Friday and Purdue Northwest on Senior Day on Saturday.
