Voters at Vice President Kamala Harris’ rally in Flint, Michigan, argued that the Democratic candidate is better on immigration issues and that former President Trump is to blame for the current border situation.
“She came with compassion and a plan,” one voter who attended Harris’ rally on Friday told Fox News Digital. “We know there is a problem, but we have to take concrete action to make change… Just spouting rhetoric and building walls won’t work. It’s about the lives of people who came here because of hardship, suffering and danger, and we need to help them, because that’s who we are. ”
The comments came as Trump and Harris made multiple appearances in Michigan last week, emphasizing the importance of the battleground state that could decide the fate of November’s election.

With just over four weeks to go until the election, polls suggest Michigan could once again be decided by a close margin. Harris currently holds a narrow 0.7 point lead in the state, according to the Real Clear Politics polling average as of Sunday.
Immigration was top of mind for Michigan voters at both Trump and Harris rallies last week, with both sides agreeing on the need to work on securing the southern border. But while Trump supporters primarily place the blame on the Biden administration, Harris supporters in Flint say the current blame lies with President Trump’s efforts to kill President Biden’s bipartisan border bill. he claimed.
“She’s working on a bill that she said if elected, she would sign into law that would actually put more people directly on the front lines to help with border security, but Mr. Trump is killing that.” he told FOX News. digital.

“The Biden administration tried to pass legislation that would further restrict and improve border crossings. Basically, Trump went to his own people and said, ‘Hey, we need to shoot this down. I can’t let you go.” It’s a victory,” another voter said.
Some voters, however, argued that Trump’s only divisive “rhetoric” on this issue is that Harris has the experience to solve problems.

“Harris is an excellent candidate for immigration because of her experience with border security and the policies and laws necessary to achieve a secure border,” voters said. “Border security is a complex issue that requires very specific, detailed and complex planning. Complex problems require complex solutions…What we are hearing from former President Trump is essentially It’s just rhetoric and simple language, and it doesn’t solve complex problems.”
