Cornell Tate is Golda Meir’s senior and one of We Energies’ apprentices. He got this opportunity last year when he participated in a field trip.

“There are a lot of people who hate school.I’m someone who hates school. It’s not fun, but you have to do it, so people who don’t want to go to university but want to build a solid career should take advantage of this opportunity.” I think we should,” Tate said.

Cameron McCollum is a major success story for this program. He just finished an internship he earned by attending Demo Day while in high school.

He is currently a full-time general worker at We Energies. Mr McCallum said he believed it was important for young people to consider this trade as reliable workers were in high demand.

“If a big winter storm comes, who will fix the frozen pipes and electricity? People will lose power. People won’t feel the heat. We need to maintain our daily lives. We need people,” McCallum said.

He said he found his purpose at age 18 and is proud that people can trust him.

“It’s nice to have that feeling on my shoulders that everyone knows I’m someone they can trust,” McCallum said.

Tate said she feels the same way and is excited to finish her internship and start her future.

“I think this will help get kids off the streets and get them more involved in a better direction. So I’m going to continue doing this for the rest of my life,” he said.
