According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), authorities have discovered a body believed to be that of Mineris Zoe Rodriguez Ramirez, a 25-year-old Cornelia woman who had been missing since October 22.

Investigators said in an Oct. 23 statement that Rodriguez-Ramirez was last seen near a Walmart in Cornelia wearing a blue hoodie and white shorts. The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office last week investigated Rodriguez-Ramirez’s disappearance, including screenshots of her gym selfies from TikTok, where her fitness activities had amassed 25,000 followers. Reported.

The GBI and Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, discovered her body on October 29, the same day the GBI announced.

Angel DeJesus Rivera Sanchez, 24, also of Cornelia, is expected to be charged with murder in connection with Rodriguez Ramirez’s death, authorities said.

According to the GBI, Rivera-Sanchez was arrested in Atlanta on Oct. 28 on kidnapping charges in connection with Rodriguez-Ramirez’s disappearance. He was transported to Habersham County Detention Center.

Rodriguez-Ramirez’s family first reported her missing on Oct. 23, the day after she was last seen, according to the sheriff’s office. They requested assistance from the GBI on Oct. 25, the bureau said.

The GBI reported that the recovered body was sent to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.

In an interview with local news outlet Now Habersham, Rodriguez-Ramirez’s fiance Julio Tavor told reporters that his last text message to him was unusual and was probably sent by someone else. He said it was a thing.

The message read, “I’m waiting for my brother to come pick me up.”

“It didn’t make any sense…She doesn’t talk like that,” Tabor told the news outlet.

He also revealed that the 25-year-old is a mother and “takes great care of her daughter.”

In past stories shared on TikTok, Rodriguez-Ramirez told how she went to prison at age 13, gave birth to a child at 15, and had to fight for custody.

Rodriguez-Ramirez’s family told Now Habersham that their 9-year-old daughter lives with the child’s father in Puerto Rico.

Her mother, Carmen Ramirez, said she immigrated to the United States from Puerto Rico six years ago after receiving a job offer from a local manufacturer.

Her fiance, Tavor, said the last thing she knew was Rodriguez-Ramirez heading to Walmart to exchange photos with someone.

It is unclear whether Mr. Rodriguez-Ramirez had any relationship with Mr. Rivera-Sanchez or who he was allegedly meeting with at Walmart. The GBI did not immediately respond to NTD News’ request for comment.

As the investigation continues, the GBI is asking anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted by phone at 800-597-8477, through the See Something, Send Something mobile apps, or online through the GBI website.

The GBI said once the investigation is complete, the case file will be turned over to the Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
