Pacer Mohammed Shami’s fitness has come under intense scrutiny. Shami, who has been out of action since the 2023 ODI World Cup, gave an extensive update on his injury and said he is not in any pain. He also exclaimed that he is still calculating for the next Border-Gavaskar Trophy, scheduled to begin in Perth on November 22. Mohammed Shami was seen bowling full tilt inside the nets after the first Test between India and New Zealand in Bangalore.

Shami’s bowling came in the nets days after captain Rohit Sharma revealed that Shami had swelling in his knee, which was affecting his rehabilitation from an ankle injury.
“I’m very happy with my bowling yesterday. Before that, I bowled from a half run-up because I didn’t want to put too much effort on it. But yesterday I decided to go with a full tilt and bowled 100 par. ‘St,’ Shami told reporters on the sidelines of an event hosted by Eugenics Hair Sciences.
“The results have been good. The pain is 100 per cent gone. Everyone has been wondering for a long time whether he will be able to play in the Australian series, but it is still a bit far away,” he added.

Shami says he would like to play a few Ranji Trophy matches for Bengal.
Before the first Test between India and New Zealand in Bangalore, Rohit Sharma had said he was not in favor of fielding an “undercooked” Mohammed Shami for the series against Australia.
The pacer has now said that he would like to play a few Ranji Trophy matches for Bengal. “I want to play a few matches (with Ranji) before I go,” he added.
“The only thing on my mind is getting fit for the Australia series and how strong I can be. I know what kind of attack we need in Australia. More time on the ground. ,” Shami said. .
Conversely, Mohammed Shami has not played for India since the 2023 World Cup final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
