NYC Health + Hospitals Board Chair Jose A. Pagan named to PoliticsNY and amNY Metro’s 2024 Latino Power Players recognition list


Pagan is recognized as an inspiring leader in the Latinx community shaping New York’s future

New York, NY — NYC Health + Hospitals today announced that Dr. Jose A. Pagán, Chairman of the Board, has been recognized on PoliticsNY and amNY Metro’s 2024 Latinx Power Players list. This inaugural list, released in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, features elected officials, business executives, entrepreneurs and community leaders from the Latinx community who are making an impact in New York City. . This list of awards is part of a monthly series by PoliticsNY and amNY Metro about New York’s “power players,” including business executives, educators, government affairs experts and nonprofit directors.

Dr. Jose A. Pagan is professor and chair of the Department of Public Health Policy and Management at New York University’s School of Global Public Health. He is also an adjunct senior fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania and chair of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s National Advisory Board for Health Policy Research Scholars. Mr. Pagan is a health economist who has led research, implementation, and evaluation projects on the redesign of health care delivery and payment systems. He is interested in population health management, health care payment and delivery system reform, and social determinants of health. He is currently a member of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Committee on Systems Approaches to Improving Patient Care by Supporting Clinician Wellness. He also served on the boards of the Interdisciplinary Association of Population Health Sciences and the American Association of Health Economists.
