Huge highs and terrible lows
To some degree, it’s safe to say that all of One Direction’s members have had successful solo careers in a way that few girl or boy bands have. When these gender bands go into an inevitable period of hiatus, which always happens, the real guarantee is that despite the fact that they all try, solo success is definitely guaranteed. isn’t it. In the case of One Direction, Harry, Liam, Louis, Niall and Zayn have enjoyed varying success as solo artists over the years. So, I decided to put together a ranking of who actually came out on top and broke the transition to solo superstardom.
5. Liam Payne
Oh Liam. If you were to step into a time machine and witness these five young people singing Natalie Imbruglia in the judges’ house as if they had scrambled off a sinking ship, Liam Payne Did anyone think that he would be ranked last in the One Award for Directing Solo Career? Liam has always been something of a frontman and lead vocalist for the band, but over the years he has become something of a laughing stock for 1D. No, that *dance didn’t help.
Liam Payne hit the charts with his first album in the form of singles such as “Strip That Down”, the really decent “Bedroom Floor”, and Rita Ora’s Fifty Shades big song “For You”. Despite his success, time was not kind to him. Looking back at Liam Payne’s short-lived stint dominating the pop charts in the UK, his hits have aged badly, and today most of them stand up for ridicule online. There are rumors that his second record may “never surface,” coupled with the colossal flop of his lead single and his disastrous off-stage personality and accusations leveled at him from left and center. Combined with the fact that he was targeted, Liam ended up at the bottom of the rankings.
4. Louis Tomlinson
Of all the One Direction boys ranked here, I think the one who doesn’t have as many monster hits is Louis Tomlinson. He is the only member of the band not to have over 1 billion streams. His most streamed songs are collaborations with Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals and Steve Aoki, neither of which are representative of the music Louis has actually continued to make. . He veered away from pop, creating a more indie, shitty Uni-era nightclub guitar rock vibe, but it never really hit the charts.
But I respect that Louis clearly has an axis that distinguishes himself from the music that other boys make, and he creates authentic songs that he would personally listen to.
3. Zayn Malik
Zayn has an outstanding voice and in his first solo career, he really had something to prove. Pillow Talk remains my favorite One Direction solo single, a straight-up pop smash that still sounds funny, weird, and fresh. Zayn had a debut album era that most soloists dream of. He has achieved huge success, collaborating with Taylor Swift, and racking up 1.7 billion streams on Spotify. There are no easy feats.
The problem with Zayn’s solo work is that he couldn’t maintain the momentum. With the exception of his second album, Sia, which appeared at the end of the record, Zayn’s next three albums had little to no commercial impact. Oddly enough, he seems to have all the huge chops, but never sticks to the landing and looks like he’s in a bit of a crisis artistically.
2. Niall Horan
dark horse. Niall and Louis obviously don’t have the most memorable vocals of One Direction, but thanks to continued success on the charts and growing identity as an artist, Niall is slowly but surely climbing the ranks. It even reached the rank of 2nd place. Something very valuable. Niall Horan has a truly endearing energy, so I’m rooting for him with all my heart. His music doesn’t particularly resemble my vibe, but he uses his charm to be aggressive, creates really comfortable and soft songs, and gets better and better, which resonates with a lot of people. I’m here.
He is currently working on his third album and it is his best album to date. And he just keeps getting better and better. fair play.
1. Harry Styles
I’ve always been most obsessed with Harry Styles. And apparently, so was the world. No matter what Harry is singing, he brings richness to his vocals. From a fairly decent debut record, he’s just worked on his artistry and personal branding, taking his music to a level where he’s a serious contender to headline Glastonbury next year. As a former boy bander with only three albums under his belt, it’s not easy to join the buzz. However, there are only three albums.
It felt like Harry Styles had been on tour with Love on Tour for about 50 years. And he was still filling arenas. That’s totally surprising. You know when someone has had extraordinary success when there’s a little uniform that everyone wears on tour. He’s at the top of his game and only getting better. I have never failed, and I never will at this rate.
