On Friday, the New England Patriots got some positive news regarding their offensive line.
Patriots coach Jerod Mayo has indicated that guard Sidi Sawh has returned to practice and is responding well, officially marking him as questionable for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. listed in.
Saw was beaten up in the final preseason game against the Washington Commanders in August. It now appears he could make his regular season debut.
Mayo also mentioned left tackle Demtry Jacobs, who was new to the team after being released by the Denver Broncos in late August. He overhauled his tackling on Friday.
“Big man (6-6, 315). Very coachable. Does a good job throwing his hands,” Maye said, via ESPN’s Mike Reese. “Is there anything I need to work on? 100 percent. But his mentality and attitude were great. He got better every day.”
Two notes on the evolving Patriots OL:
🏈 LG Sidi Soh (ankle) returned to practice and showed a good response. “Last week was a close one,” Jerrod Mayo said. “I’m looking forward to watching him play on Sunday.”
🏈 Regarding LT DeMotrie Jacobs, who may be a starter due to injury…

The offensive line is definitely still developing.
Nevertheless, Saw’s possible return could be a major development. He played well last season, especially in run blocking. The Patriots are currently in need of some form of stability on the offensive line, and reinforcements appear to be in the works.
