How disorganized is your home? Perhaps it’s time for a professional organizer.
A Plymouth woman has made a career out of helping people transform their homes from chaos to peaceful order.
Introducing home organizer Valerie Ruha
Valerie Luha stands in her home in Plymouth. She turned her organizational skills into a career.
Valerie Ruha loves books and loves the Nancy Drew series.
“I have a whole collection,” she said. “Everything from 1 to 51.”
She loves books, but she loves organizing them even more.
“I know where the mystery is, where the fiction is,” she said.
For Ruha, keeping things organized started at an early age.
“If you couldn’t find me, I’d be in my room organizing my sock drawer or my Barbie dolls,” she said. “It just came naturally to me.”
A few years ago, Ruha took her natural talent and turned it into a career.
I left the world of marketing that I had known for 20 years to start Very Organized by Valerie.
Ruha’s organizational philosophy
Ruha cleans and organizes without being judgmental.
“Kitchen, bedroom, pantry, basement, closet. You name it, I’ll do it,” she said. “I love helping people. It’s really rewarding. The people who contact me really need help, so I don’t just help them organize, I try to figure out what works for them. We’re there to help them understand what’s going wrong for them.”
Home organizers are happy to help those who have just moved or are looking to downsize.
“Baby boomers are downsizing and moving to more comfortable places and have a lot going on, so it’s hard to process all the things they’ve acquired over the years. “We need a lot of support,” he said. Luha.

Ruha shared some tips on how to make the most of your kitchen cabinet space.

“It’s not empty, it’s just more vertical space,” she said.
She also recommends installing lighting in the back pantry so you can see things better and putting things in the bin.
“It’s a pull-out bin that attaches to the cabinet, but it’s as simple as pulling it out and seeing what’s inside. You have to reach all the way back and pull everything out,” Luha said. .

Ruha’s ultimate goal is to free people’s minds and give them more time to focus on what they love.
“I feel better, my clients feel better, and I’m really happy to be able to help them,” she said.
Ruha also helps people tackle mountains of paperwork.
She says you only need to keep your tax returns for seven years.
