Diane Bevan, newly appointed president and CEO of the Idaho Technology Council (ITC) in April 2024, is looking to make waves in the state’s technology sector. With a background in communications and public relations from Brigham Young University and an Executive Program Certificate in Social Impact Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania, Bevan brings a wealth of experience to the role.

Bevan gave it his all. In just five months, she established a 501(c)(3) foundation division to diversify program income through grants. Her focus on workforce development, innovation, and economic growth has led her to secure critical partnerships and expand efforts to promote digital literacy across Idaho.

“I have been able to influence and advance Idaho’s technology sector by focusing on talent development, innovation, and economic growth,” Bevan said. “We have secured partnerships with key stakeholders across the state, expanded our efforts to promote digital literacy, and launched new initiatives to grow our technology talent pipeline.”

Bevan launched the “Explore Idaho Tech” platform and the Idaho Tech Growth Initiative, which aims to foster statewide collaboration in the technology ecosystem. She is also spearheading multiple technology expos starting in November in Idaho Falls to strengthen connections between technology companies, investors and educational institutions.

Bevan also spotlights inclusivity in the state’s technology industry.

“Technology diversity and equity in this role requires navigating the complexities of scaling technology efforts across the state while ensuring equitable access to resources,” she said. . “While progress has been made, more needs to be done to ensure equal access to STEM education and career opportunities in all regions of Idaho.”
