LOUISVILLE, KY —

A unique fundraising event was held on Sunday with pumpkins flying through the air for a good cause.

The 10th annual Chunkin’ Pumpkins event was held Sunday at Captain’s Quarters in Louisville.

Pumpkins were thrown into the Ohio River to raise money for metastatic breast cancer research.

“We thought it was the perfect place. Pumpkin tossing is always fun and makes people laugh and smile. We thought it was unique,” said Andrew Masterson, co-owner of Captain’s Quarters. .

At the event, attendees watched as pumpkins were launched into the river to aim at floating targets.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Twisted Pink and Hope Scarves, a Louisville-based organization dedicated to metastatic breast cancer research.

Last year, Chunkin’ Pumpkins raised more than $45,000. This year’s goal was set at $50,000.
