COOKESVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Dylan Leible found Tremell Jones for a 33-yard touchdown pass to start the fourth quarter and Tennessee Tech defeated Charleston Southern 28-23 on Saturday, giving the Buccaneers five points. It was a losing streak.

The win in the first meeting between the programs was the Golden Eagles’ first win in the last four games. The Buccaneers are in their second season in the conference, but the two schools did not play each other last season.

In the first half, Dom LeBlanc hit field goals from 30 and 39 yards to go, and Leible hit DJ Linkins for a 69-yard touchdown to take a 19-7 halftime lead, but Charleston Southern fought back in the third quarter. did. Tennessee Tech attempted a two-point conversion following Lyble’s touchdown pass to Jones, but Lyble’s pass was intercepted in the end zone by Jacoby North, who ran 95 yards before being stopped. Jackson completed 14-of-29 for 213 yards and a touchdown, but was picked off twice by Charleston Southern (1-7, 0-5). Greenwade had 24 carries for 95 yards and Rhone had three catches for 129 yards and a score.
