Romanian edtech startup Youni has raised €900,000. The startup helps students get into the world’s top universities by facilitating the admission process through AI technology.
AI-powered platforms allow universities to efficiently connect with students based on their mutual desires. We provide comprehensive support for students in one place, helping them grow personally and professionally, and above all, preparing them for admission to universities such as Harvard, Cambridge and LSE.
Each user creates a detailed profile listing their interests, goals, academic achievements, and accomplishments. Based on this data, an AI-powered algorithm recommends suitable academic fields and the universities that offer them.
Students have access to certified tutors who can help them prepare for standardized tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, A Level/GCSE, SAT, and International Baccalaureate (AA/AI). You can also consult with your academic advisor, who can provide you with valuable academic advice and guidance.
With a 100% applicant acceptance rate, the AI-powered platform also benefits universities by recruiting high-quality candidates and streamlining the work of admissions teams.
The platform has helped more than 6,000 students get into their dream universities and secured $52 million worth of scholarships.
It also helps universities better plan their admissions processes and allocate scholarships more efficiently.
The seed round investment was led by Czech Accelerator and VC firm Soulmates Ventures, with Romanian fund Early Game Ventures investing 300,000 euros and supporting the startup with 600,000 euros.
“Finding the right field of study and passing entrance exams is often very difficult for students. They need comprehensive information, direction and support.
We believe that using scalable, modern digital technology for this purpose is a great idea that has the potential to simplify the path to an ideal career path for our students.” , said Hynek Sochor, founder and managing partner of Soulmates Ventures.
Andrei Nicolae, Founder and CEO of Youni, said:
“When I was looking for a university, I wasn’t really sure which field of study would be most suitable for me. Moreover, at that time in Romania it was not possible to apply online to study at a university, and all information was hidden. Working across different platforms was time-consuming and mentally taxing.
While working in education in Germany, I saw local students experiencing similar difficulties, so I decided to develop an intelligent platform that would provide universal support to all students. ”
Over the next year, the Youni team aims to help 1 million students get into their dream university.
