PM holds roundtable discussion with tech CEOs (Photo: X @narendramodi) NEW DELHI: Pushing for stronger ties between India and the US in the technology sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday interacted with top US CEOs and industry leaders at a roundtable hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering in New York.
The talks, which came as part of Prime Minister Modi’s three-day visit to the US, focused on boosting cooperation in cutting-edge areas such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing and biotechnology.
Giving details about the X-Meeting, PM Modi said, “I held a fruitful roundtable discussion with CEOs of tech companies in New York and discussed technology, innovation and more. I also highlighted the progress India has made in this space. I am pleased to see the immense optimism towards India.”
Some of the notables who attended the event included Adobe Chairman and CEO Shantanu Narayen, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, AMD Chairman and CEO Lisa Su and Moderna Chairman Nouba Afeyan.
The Prime Minister highlighted India’s growing potential as a global innovation hub and called on U.S. companies to take advantage of the opportunities arising from India’s expanding digital technology sector.
According to External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s growth potential during his meeting with top US CEOs.
“PM @narendramodi today interacted with top US tech leaders and CEOs at a roundtable hosted by the MIT School of Engineering in New York,” Jaiswal shared on X.
Modi also addressed a rally of Indian immigrants in Long Island. His next stop is the United Nations General Assembly’s Future Summit in New York, where he will address the occasion before leaving for India.
